Dhaw Center for Development and Support of Democracy held a lecture entitled “The Directions of Iraq’s Foreign Policy for the Next Government”, delivered by Professor Dr. Siham Ismail (Professor of Foreign Policy at Al-Mustansiriya University), on Friday 26/12/2025 at the Center’s headquarters.

The lecturer focused on several aspects of foreign policy that the next prime minister needs to take into consideration, particularly external (regional) threats represented by the new situation in Syria and the Iranian-American conflict, in addition to the government’s need to define its foreign-policy compass in line with its governmental program.

The event was attended by a number of academics, representatives of Iraqi research centers, and advisers, who discussed the points raised in the lecture and presented their academic and professional views from different perspectives.
